SaddleBags is a Country Music and Line Dancing Mecca on the North Georgia Coast This country dance hall in Savannah is famous across the state for its epic selection of sipping Bourbons. It is a genuine country bar in sophisticated, urban Savannah. As well as the aforementioned Bourbons, SaddleBags also has an extensive list of good and reasonably priced beers and spirits, and a tasty food menu. They show sports on TV, have a rodeo bull you can ride (and vomit from) and have awesome live country bands every night. Their dance floor is famous for the friendly atmosphere, as well as top quality line dancing, that you will likely encounter there. SaddleBags is a country music destination par excellence!

If It’s Bluegrass in a Barn You’re After, Look No Further Than Everett’s Music Barn, Suwanee This eccentric venue is open on Saturday nights only. Everett’s Music Barn has been operating for 50 years and is well and truly all about the music! They survive on donations, as there is no bar – it is an alcohol-free venue. They attract some of the best bluegrass musicians you will ever hear – you’ll just have to be sober while you listen. The family band opens each night’s event, and then they are followed by a renowned national or local bluegrass act. Admittedly, there being no alcohol available is a limitation of this venue, but if you want to experience the best and most authentic live bluegrass music you’re likely to ever hear, Everett’s Music Barn is the place to go!

The Country Club Dance Hall and Saloon in Augusta is Famous for Its Heaving Dance Floor The Country Club has a lovely, shiny wooden dance floor that is just perfect for stamping your feet in time with the music in a line of hootin’ and hollerin’ fellow cowboys and cowgals! They offer free line dancing lessons from 7 p.m. ‘til 9 p.m. most Fridays and Saturdays, and after that a top (often national level) country act takes to the stage and the night becomes yours to dance away! This place is only open Friday and Saturday nights, and it is well worth timing your visit to Augusta, so make sure you are in town one of those nights.

Tipsy McSways, in the Fishing Town of Brunswick, Brings Raucous Live Alt-Country to the Georgia Coast If you like to listen to great country music with the smell of salty sea air in your nostrils, then Tipsy McSways – only a stone’s through from the waterfront in Brunswick on the Georgia Coast – is the place to come! It’s a great little venue with an excellent live country, top-notch sound, good beer and food, and wonderful people. What more could you ask for?

Eddie’s Attic, Decatur, is a Genuine Music Lover’s Venue This cozy upstairs (hence the name) venue is a perfect space to relax and listen to some great live country, folk or Americana. The atmosphere is always epic – during the quiet bits you can hear a pin drop, and during the rowdy bits the crowd really do their part! This place isn’t a dedicated country venue, but it definitely leans that way. Check out their listings to find out what live country acts they are showcasing when you are in town.

Learn How to Line Dance at Club 201, Alpharetta There are dance lessons every Saturday in this classy dance hall just north of Atlanta. After the dance lessons finish, a top live country band take to the stage and an ‘open dance floor’ is declared. This is your chance to show off your new dance chops! But don’t worry – nobody’s judging you. There is a warm, communal atmosphere at Club 201. Everyone is here to have a good time, no matter how good (or otherwise) their country dancing moves may be.

Dixie Tavern is a Down ‘n’ Dirty Live Music Venue in Atlanta That Hosts Regular Top-Notch Country Acts This stalwart venue has seen thousands and thousands of bands take to its hallowed stage. There is a great country, folk, Americana, country-rock, and blues offered here – it’s a proper live music bar, and a ‘must visit’ country venue in Atlanta!

The Crazy Bull in Macon Draws Country Bands From Across the Nation and Has a Huge Dance Floor This lively establishment attracts people who want to dance, drink and party. Lots of great local bands, as well as plenty of well-known Nashville-based acts take to the stage here each week. This place is Macon’s top country music destination, and rivals anything the bigger destinations have to offer.
